About Tiny Desk AI

Who makes Tiny Desk AI, what it does and what it is not.

What Tiny Desk AI is

Tiny Desk AI is a small tool that makes one kind of video: a 19-second vertical desk concert in which the band at the little desk is recast with the people you choose. You add up to five photos, the site renders the video and you download it. That is all it does, and we would rather it did that well.

How a video is made

The reference clip is cut at its real shot change into two pieces. Each piece is rendered with your photos by a video model, the results are trimmed to the exact length of the pieces, joined, and the original song is laid under them. If either piece fails, the credits for the video go back to your balance.

What it is not

Tiny Desk AI is independent. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by NPR, the Tiny Desk Concerts series or any artist. "Tiny Desk" and "Outstanding" are used only to describe a popular video format. Every video is generated and is not an NPR video.

Your photos

Photos are used only to make your video. We do not use them to train models, show them publicly or sell them. Please upload photos only of adults who have agreed to appear, and label what you post as AI-generated. The privacy policy and terms say the same thing in full.
